The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia Conducted Training for Organizations Focused on Human Rights Issues
2023-05-01 16:16:03The training session was led by Sophio Shamugia, Head of the Planned Inspections Department at the Personal Data Protection Service, and Mariam Gaiparashvili, Deputy Head of the President’s Office. Participants received comprehensive insights into the legislation governing personal data processing and gained practical knowledge based on the experiences of the Personal Data Protection Service. The knowledge acquired during this training will empower organizations, enabling them to effectively detect and prevent potential violations of the legislation pertaining to personal data.
The training was attended by representatives from several organizations, including the Women's Initiatives Support Group, Tbilisi Pride, Queer Association - Temida, and the Georgian Cognitive Center CCG, alongside dedicated activists.
This training session received valuable support from the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia places a high priority on fostering close collaboration with organizations engaged in human rights advocacy. Maintaining an ongoing exchange of information and experiences is integral to the service's mission, aimed at promoting the implementation of relevant standards and ensuring the responsible handling of personal data within both the public and private sectors.
