2022-10-13 15:10:16At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili spoke about the mandate and activities of the Personal Data Protection Service, noted the need to protect the personal data of missing persons, the goal of the Service in this direction is to raise the culture of personal data protection in society and the need to bring the national legislation closer to international standards. At the meeting, the active involvement of the Personal Data Protection Service in the working meeting of the Interagency Commission of International Humanitarian Law and in the implementation of the activities envisaged by the 2022-2023 Action Plan for the Implementation of International Humanitarian Law was emphasized.
The Head of the delegation talked about the activity of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia, the activities carried out and expressed readiness to actively cooperate with the Personal Data Protection Service on the issues of personal data protection of missing persons.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development Department of the Personal Data Protection Service - Ana Tokhadze, the regional coordinator of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia for work with missing persons and their families - Carina Svenfelt, the delegation's adviser on legal issues - Onisime Tskhomelidze and the Head of the delegation Advisor - Irakli Saneblidze.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties agreed on the implementation of joint events, conferences, which thematically will concern the issues of personal data protection of missing persons.
