Training on Personal Data Protection for the Regional Emergency Service was Held
2017-02-09 11:23:49On 9 February 2017 around 80 representatives of the Regional Emergency Service attended the training on personal data protection. The staff of the head office along with the representatives of administrative, logistical, economic and internal control departments, medical service and quality assurance structural units participated in the training.
The training was led by Natalia Mikeladze, Training Manager of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector. Within the scope of the training, the participants discussed the rules, principles and legal grounds for legitimate data processing, importance of data protection, the role and mandate of the Personal Data Protection Inspector, patients’ rights and disclosure of the health data.
The participants of the training expressed particular interest in the rules of video surveillance in terms of labor relations, disclosure of the patient’s health data to their family members, transfer of the health data to insurance companies, journalists and to any third party.
“Due to the especially large amount of personal data stored, medical field is particularly important to us. Data stored in healthcare and insurance sectors are interlinked and proper administration of these fields remains one of the top priorities of the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector”-stated Natalia Mikeladze.
