Spring Conference of the Data Protection Authorities Held in Budapest
2016-05-27 13:23:0125-27 May 2016, Budapest, Hungary - Personal Data Protection Inspector Tamar Kaldani and Deputy Inspector Nikoloz Bregvadze participated in the Spring Conference of the data protection authorities held in Budapest on 25-27 May.
The issues related to the respect for data protection by the national security bodies, the European Union’s new regulations and the Council of Europe’s Modernisation of Convention No. 108. The conference aimed to form the common approach on personal data protection issues and improve practical and helpful cooperation between data protection authorities.
Moreover, the conference participants discussed several resolutions on new formats of cooperation between the personal data authorities and cross-border data transfer.
“The Office of personal Data Protection of Georgia, a supervisory authority has participated in the Spring Conference for the second time this year, this is one more interesting and important format where we have the opportunity to take part in the creation process of different international standards,” Kaldani said.
The Office of personal Data Protection of Georgia has become the member of the Conference in 2014.
